Sophie grew up in the Bay of Plenty and completed her studies at the University of Otago where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in political science . During her studies Sophie was a law clerk for a firm in Melbourne and also for Lance Lawson in 2019 and 2020 where she gained experience in criminal, commercial, family and employment law . Sophie thoroughly enjoyed her time as a summer clerk with us and joined the Family Team in 2022.
Sophie’s interest in family law comes from a strong desire to assist and support her clients with integrity and to be a committed advocate for them. Sophie is particularly passionate about the welfare of children and the family unit. Sophie brings an empathetic and understanding approach to her clients and their needs and understands and respects that each situation and set of circumstances is unique.
